Lightly sweet, perfectly creamy, and filled with fresh blueberry flavor, this overnight French toast bake is the perfect balance of indulgent and effortless.

Ingredients
  

  • For the casserole:
  • 1 loaf French bread or brioche, cut into cubes
  • 8 oz cream cheese cubed
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries or frozen
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • Β½ cup heavy cream
  • ΒΎ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • For the topping optional but SO good:
  • Β½ cup brown sugar
  • Β½ cup flour
  • Β½ tsp cinnamon
  • ΒΌ cup butter cold + cubed

Method
 

  1. Assemble
  2. Grease a 9x13 baking dish
  3. Add half the bread cubes
  4. Sprinkle cream cheese + blueberries
  5. Top with remaining bread
  6. Make Custard
  7. Whisk: eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon
  8. Pour evenly over the casserole

  10. Chill (Important!)
  11. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight
  12. Add Topping
  13. Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon
  14. Cut in butter until crumbly
  15. Sprinkle over top before baking
  16. Bake
  17. Bake at 350Β°F for 45–50 minutes
  18. Center should be set, top golden

Notes

  • Use brioche if you can β†’ softer, richer
  • Add lemon zest to the custard for a fresh spring flavor πŸ‹
  • If using frozen blueberries, don’t thaw (prevents bleeding color)
