Season the Beef
In a large bowl combine the ground beef, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently just until combined.
The olive oil helps keep the burgers extra tender and juicy.
Form the Burgers
Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
Heat the Skillet
Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
Cook the Burgers
Place the burgers in the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side, until nicely browned and cooked through. Sprinkle a little extra black pepper over the tops while cooking.
Melt the Cheese
During the final minute of cooking, top each burger with Colby cheese and allow it to melt.
Assemble the Burgers
Place each burger in a large lettuce leaf and top with red onion, Grillo’s pickles, and your favorite condiments.
Serve
Serve immediately with extra pickles and lettuce for wrapping.
