🥬✨ Buttery Garlic Bliss Green Beans

These buttery garlic green beans are bright, crisp-tender, and full of flavor. Quickly blanched and sautéed in a rich garlic butter with a hint of fresh lemon, they’re the perfect simple side that tastes elevated enough for any dinner table.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 –4 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt + pepper
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest or squeeze of lemon juice
  • Optional: red pepper flakes or shaved parmesan

Method
 

  1. Boil (quick blanch)
  2. Bring salted water to a boil
  3. Add green beans and cook 3–4 minutes (tender but still crisp)
  4. Shock (key step 💡)
  5. Drain and rinse with cold water
  6. → keeps them bright green + stops cooking
  7. Sauté
  8. Heat olive oil + butter in a skillet
  9. Add garlic → cook about 30 seconds
  10. Cook beans
  11. Add green beans
  12. Sauté 3–5 minutes until slightly blistered
  13. Finish ✨
  14. Salt + pepper
  15. Add lemon zest or squeeze of lemon
  16. Toss and serve

Notes

  • Don’t skip the cold rinse → that vibrant green color matters
  • Let them sit in the pan a bit → slight char = flavor
  • Finish with a tiny extra pat of butter right before serving
