🍗 Paprika Garlic Chicken Thighs

These Paprika Garlic Chicken Thighs are an easy, oven-roasted dinner with bold garlic and paprika flavor. Baking at a higher temperature helps the skin turn beautifully golden while keeping the meat juicy. Halfway through cooking, the chicken is basted with its own flavorful juices and finished with a drizzle of the rich pan drippings.

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 6 –8 chicken thighs bone-in, skin-on
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Prepare the chicken.
  3. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and trim any excess skin.
  4. Mix the seasoning.
  5. In a small bowl combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Season the chicken.
  7. Arrange the chicken thighs in a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil and rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken. Sprinkle the chopped garlic over the top.
  9. Bake.
  10. Place in the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes.
  11. Baste halfway through.
  12. About 15 minutes into baking, spoon the pan juices over the chicken thighs to keep them juicy and flavorful.
  13. Finish with drippings.
  14. When the chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature, remove from the oven and pour the flavorful drippings from the pan over the chicken before serving.

Notes

❤️ Patting the chicken dry helps the skin get crispy in the oven.
❤️ If you want even more color, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
❤️ Use a meat thermometer for perfectly cooked chicken every time.
